Ideology 2008

When was the last time you stopped what you were doing to listen to a politician or a candidate give a speech? Much less, when was the last time after listening to a politician or a candidate give a speech you felt like saluting a flag and thanking God that you were an American? Have you been inspired by the future of American recently? Or, like me, has you mostly just been beaten down by the same story and the same Beltway rhetoric over and over again?
Last night, Mike Huckabee and Barack Obama won the Iowa Caucus (or my new favorite "the Hawkeye Cauckeye") They each gave their acceptance speech to an overly enthusiastic crowd at their respective HQs. I re-watched each of them again today and would encourage you to do the same. Neither of them said what the polls wanted them to say. They didn't have Frank Luntz blessings over their choice of words or the unbridled enthusiasm they exhibited. They both appeared to be speaking from the heart and from a love of country, something that got me terribly excited. Each of their speeches are posted below. Listen to them, think about what is at stake in November and what is at stake for America. If you are a Democrat, vote for Obama. If you are a Republican vote for Huckabee. And if you are like me, someone that likes to be entertained and inspired at the same time, having a Huckabee/Obama debate would make for some of the most interesting and ideological television in history!
