Yes. We. Can.

While I still haven't heard much of substance from Obama as far as the policy and actual plans for the change that he wants to bring about, with the way he speaks, I am pretty sure that no one cares. He is more impressive than any politician that I have even seen. When he speaks, he makes me think about America the way that we all should think about America. In the way that says we shouldn't have to apologize for being Americans when we travel abroad. In a way that makes me think we can actually come together, red state and blue state, and make America the place that it is supposed to be. All of that is a different way of thinking since I got cynical about politics and what government can do.
Now, if he can back up his rhetoric with action, and action that truly does move America forward and brings about change, more power to him. If he continues to speak with the passion and the eloquence that he has up until now, as a wordsmith and quotable phrase junky, I am stoked about the rest of the election season.
And, potentially best of all, he's not Hilary Clinton.

Some of my favorites from last night's victory speech:
"There are those who will continue to tell us we cannot do this. That we cannot have what we long for. That we are peddling false hopes.

But here's what I know. I know that when people say we can't overcome all the big money and influence in Washington, I think of the elderly woman who sent me a contribution the other day — an envelope that had a money order for $3.01 along with a verse of scripture tucked inside. So don't tell us change isn't possible...."

" Yes we can change. Yes we can heal this nation. Yes we can seize our future. "
