Tough to get a hold of?

"It is fatal to know too much at the outcome: boredom comes as quickly to the traveler who knows his route as to the novelist who is overcertain of his plot." - Paul Theroux

Last year at this time, it was just starting to hit most people that I had left the Texas Financial Group - Dallas. I had been there for 5 years, if you count my internships. It was a very comfortable place, one that I knew I could do well in and had achieved some early success. But then I got bored. I could see what my life would look like in 10 years by looking at the guys down the hall who were 10 years in and I knew that "these boots still had a lot of ground they hadn't covered yet..." So I surprised everyone and walked away from the perosnal practice I had built and the future that lay ahead of me.
Because of how close the office is, it was kind of like leaving a family. But once I was out the door, I was no longer a part of that world and the separation was quick. But, like peeling off a band-aid, it is better to just let it rip, than to slowly let the pain linger. Now, in leaving, I also ended up changing my phone number, a clean start all around. I sent out a mass email and posted my new information here on my blog and as well as on my Facebook account. This summer, my brother Peter, interned for the TFG-D and was swarmed by people asking how to get a hold of me.
I have worked in sales and have made a living getting in touch with people that I don't know or know very little about. My best friend is google. Currently, if you were to google (I love how that word is now a verb) my name, Andy Ellwood, you would be able to find no less than two and a half pages of ways to get in touch with me.
The people who were wanting to get in touch with me are in sales and I know they use google, I taught them. So when they say, "You are a hard man to get a hold of" I hear "I am lazy and it really wasn't that important."
As the old saying goes, "where there is a will, there is a way" or at least there is google.
