Preparation and Effort
Recently Mark Cuban issued an entrepreneurial challenge and called it his own version of a stimulus package (all the details are on his blog HERE) It was an entertaining read and a couple thoughts crossed my mind as to how I would respond, but none that met his criteria.
But what was really of interest to me was the update that he posted a few days later. As he read culled through all of the responses he received, this was his take away:
"The response has reinforced two long held perspectives I have had about entrepreneurs and those who would like to be entrepreneurs. The first is that 95pct of people are dreamers who really don’t want to do the work. They would like to think they have the “next big thing”, but don’t realize that the “next big thing” that impacts their potential success is preparation and effort. "
Or as another wise man once said:
"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." - Thomas Edison
