People's Priorities Are Easy To Understand

Want to know the easiest way to know what someone's priorities are? It is really simple: it is what they are doing. People make time for what matters to them and nothing else. If you're curious if you matter to someone, take a look at how many times they have made time for you recently. If you are curious who you care about, look at who you are actively making time for.

Want to understand which items on someone's to-do list are the most important to them? It's easy: they're already done.

If someone says, "I really want to come to your event, will let you know if I can make it!" your event has no place on their priority list.

If someone says, "I'd love to be there, but not sure I can swing the ticket price...." and their Instagram is all pictures of them at Broadway shows or on vacation, they never had any intention of attending.

If someone says, "I can't wait to get together! Let me check my calendar this weekend and see what looks good next month" you are an after thought and should never call that person back again.

Life is too short for people that don't have the same level of commitment to you that you do to them. Especially if that person is trying to pass themselves off as a friend. Someone you are hunting, trying to sell something to, or build a partnership with, fine. Someone who says you matter and then makes no time to live that out - cut and run.
