Busted Wide Open

We are living in one of the most incredible periods in recent human history. Everything is being questioned and every thing that has been assumed to be constant is our society is up for debate and review. "Because we've always done it that way" is no longer an answer even the most staunch traditionalists no longer are willing to accept. The constructs of Church and State, Family and Friends, Political Party and Ideological Lines, they're all in flux. 

How fantastic!

Any time there are shifts like the one we are experiencing right now, there are cracks in the things once thought to be unbreakable, fissures in conventional wisdom, and a shattering of the platforms and social constructs that had previously been widely agreed upon.  For many, this future looks uncertain and scary.  For others, hopefully you, the future looks like an opportunity to reimagine the world and make it so. 

Take your hammer and pick axe, find the crack that needs to be exposed, and swing as hard as you can. Shatter the confines of expectations. Keep pulling the thread of the ass-backwards thinking's sweater.  Annoy with intention those that assumed their race, gender, nationality, or last name were a vintage that would keep them high above the mucky-muck. 

There's never been a time like this in our lifetime and it is a time like this that will define the life we lead during the rest of our existence, on this planet or others. 

Take a few hours this weekend to study the walls that have been keeping you confined to the expectations of others and find the cracks. Look for the shifting foundations and the unevenness of the ceiling overhead. They're hoping you don't notice. Notice them. Study them. Break them wide open and chase down what's on the other side. Escape the room for real and lead others out of their confines as well. 

It's a brave new world ahead and we are the ones who are going to define it.
